When embarking on any new project, you will most certainly face numerous obstacles. The obstacles can be in various forms. It can be physical, knowledge, skills or emotional obstacles. These obstacles may be controlled by external or internal factors.
One of the most common and limiting obstacle is fear.
‘The only thing we have to fear is fear itself’ (The Big Issue Issue No. 972).
We develop fear for many reasons. We fear things would go wrong and normally fear is disguised in the question ’what if’. Our mind is very skillful at coming up with a thousand and one ‘what if’s’ questions that will create doubt and demotivate us. Before we realise it we are abandoning the great idea or project that we have so enthusiastically started. It is at times like this a facilitator or mentor would be of great help.
Starting a website does come with it’s own problems and obstacles. You must be prepared mentally to overcome any kind of mental blocks including fear. These fears and blocks are usually strong at the beginning of a project. This is the most vulnerable stage of the process and if you can get over it success is on its way. Get a mentor or a facilitator who has had enough experience to pull you through challenging moments while working on a project like building a website.
Put your fears a side and get on with building your very own website.
Best wishes.
